Yumi had grown up in the temple with Moiragh who was her spirit mother. Moiragh always said that blood has strong ties but spirit bond is stronger. As a high priestess, you have a warrior and you have a conscience, when you open up for the old ones they will enter into your dreams, they will show you who they are. Yumi had meet her warrior in the forest when she was twelve, Cierrah belonged to the forest people, she was 5 years older than Yumi. Cierrah could see right into your spirit, her face never expressed emotion, in the forest she melted in, you never knew where she was. Yumis conscience and shield was from another kingdom far from their country, she had appeared in a dream and screamed that she was ready to be her conscience and shield. Yumi, Cierrah and the king's men had brought home Marny who were eager to begin her path to be a high priestess. Marny was already ready in her spirit, she was a high priestess, Yumi and Marny felt a deep spirit connection, no one could have got a better shield and conscience that Yumi had received from the older ones, Marny was made to be a priestess . Their path had been crossed and it was the beginning of a long journey through life.


The way of the witches and high priestesses were to live with nature and live simple, witches healed the earth and priestesses healed the kingdoms. They were seven elements spread over kingdoms, all seven had a temple guarded by a high priestess who was the element. Yumi lived in the earth's elements, the earth was the basis for all the other elements. The earth melted together all these elements into a single matter .. our body. The life in the temple was filled with knowledge, joy and pain. In the Earth Temple, they had the toughest rules because it had a responsibility to fuse all the other elements into a single matter. If you broke a rule you knew that the lash would leave traces of the rule you broke in you back. Moiragh always said pain gives knowledge, knowledge of your spirit. The first time Yumis back got to taste the whip, she felt hatred that Moiragh allowed it. Moiragh had rushed into her room and said with an icy voice, "if you ever allow hatred to come into your heart and direct it, then Moiragh have to kill you, so long as hatred and vengeance stays in your eyes then you harm none."
